Gardens: small and large gardens to visit are relatively close by. Internationally renowned Aberglasney and the National Botanic Garden of Wales, RHS affiliated Caer Hir, several gardens which open under the National Gardens Scheme, such as the lovely gardens at Gelli Uchaf in nearby Rhydcymerau.
Walkers have ample opportunities with both local footpaths and the stunning coastline walks of The Gower, Pembrokeshire and Cardiganshire within easy reach. The Brechfa Forest is nearby as are several National Trust properties with beautiful grounds eg Dinefwr Park and Castle.
Cyclists can explore the popular local Brechfa Forest Mountain Bike Trails and Crychan Forest Trails.
Picturesque towns and villages abound: Aberaeron with its’ harbour, the market towns of Lampeter, Llandeilo and Llandovery and the county towns of Carmarthen and Cardigan. Many have special events such as the Lampeter Food Festival and Llandovery Sheep Festival, and Lampeter is home to the unique Welsh Quilt Centre, and an historic small University campus.
More places of interest include the National Trust’s Llanerchaeron, Aberystwyth, the National Wool Museum at Drefach Velindre, working woolen mills, artists studios and galleries, the Dolaucothi Gold Mines and the many castles found throughout the area.
